Comprehensive Poverty Reduction Program (CPRP)

Goal: Poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged people, to achieve sustainable livelihood security and improved dignity. (35 sub-districts in 15 districts).

Program Components:

  1. Improving basic living conditions by increasing food consumption,clothing,housing,health,education,water,sanitation and home environment.

  2. Reducing vulnerabilities related to social discriminations and natural disasters.

  3. Reducing morbidity and mortality, family planning and birth spacing,immunization training traditional birth attendants, heath and hygiene education, reproductive health education along with STDs and HIV/AIDS

  4. Improving status of human dignity through improved social legal and economic transactions with increased choices and options.

  5. Organizing poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged people under sustainable community organizations and networks,to meet their livelihood needs with dignity, through employment and increased incomes, household food security and nutrition for the malnourished,  health care services, education, rights,education,disaster management and environment protection and development.

Program Strategies:

  1. Establishing people’s organizations and setting up networks as sustainable institutions and social force.

  2. Supporting efforts which embody the use of the people’s institutions and their networks as social capital in the form of advocacy initiatives in pressing home their demands and accessing GO+NGO extension services.

  3. Supporting mixed strategies of ‘Right Based Approach’ and ‘Service Delivery Approach’, so that organized poor security.

  4. Establishing gender equity and justice for promotion of societal peace and harmony and to create and enabling resulting in sustained livelihood improvements.

  5. Helping people to face disasters with courage and maintain a hope of building disaster resilient communities with quicker coping mechanisms.

  6. Seeking to build a networking partnerships and alliances with other government non-government and community based organizations.

  7. Pursuing to build organizational capacity, so that it emerges as a mission oriented, result based and pro-poor organization, with sufficient profiles of integrated, right based strategies, coupled with selective service delivery interventions.
